Faster, Stronger, Lighter.
BMW’s recent focus on slimming down their bikes is on full display with the new F900GS—which has lost an impressive 31lbs/14kg. The weight savings are a result of many updates across the bike, including its new plastic tank and Akrapovič exhaust system. The whole package is a bike that looks and feels much smaller than its 850GS predecessor.
Ready for Adventure
With the middleweight GS’s improved off-road capabilities, riders will need the best protection accessories. SW-MOTECH already has this covered with crashbars, skid plates and axle sliders. All are already available and ready to ship on their website.
The 900GS has also been fitted for their new Adventure Handguards with optional extension to the polycarbonate shell and a replaceable outer crash pad. A sleeker option is the Sport Handguard system with a smaller shell.
A centerstand offering makes tire and chain maintenance a breeze and the kickstand foot extension provides extra security when stopped in the soft stuff.
Loaded Up for the Long-Haul
The BMW is no slouch on longer stretches on the highway, either. SW-MOTECH also offers multiple packages for long tours or shorter jaunts. The STREET-RACK in the back opens up options for top cases. The PRO Side Carriers offer the flexibility of four different case options as well as the QUICK-LOCK functionality to remove the whole rack in a matter of seconds when not in use. Riders can choose between the traditional top-loading aluminum TRAX ADV panniers, the new DUSC rigid ABS cases, the waterproof soft adventure SysBag WP bags or the sleek sport-touring Aero ABS cases. Each can be purchased as a complete system with the rack system.
Up front on the tank, new F900 owners have a total of 10 options for tank bags, from strap attached models to ones utilizing the convenient magnet-assisted PRO Tank Ring System. New waterproof models are also available. The PRO City WP tank bag fits the sloped GS tank perfectly and has nine liters of bombproof capacity with a MOLLE lid for expandability to add phone holders or accessory bags.
Ergonomics
On longer trips, having the cockpit and controls setup the way you want them is just as important as your luggage solution. Being able to adjust the little things make all the difference. The EVO Footrests, with removable vibration-absorbing inserts, can move the pegs up, down, fore, aft and even rotate the angle for a total of 36 different foot positions. Fully adjustable gear levers, variable bar backs and mirror relocation mounts all dial-in a ride that is safer and more comfortable.
